Ovarian Cancer – Not So Silent Anymore™
Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego is committed to advancing cancer research and education of the medical community for early diagnosis of ovarian cancer, improving the quality of care for patients and addressing legislative issues that affect evidence-based cancer care and research.
In this regard, with continuing to expand our successful educational outreach efforts, Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego is launching a new program in 2018 “Ovarian Cancer—Not So Silent Anymore.”
This program is for medical offices and healthcare providers with the goal as a reminder to be on the alert for the symptoms, signs and risk factors for the early detection of ovarian cancer.
Seeing the need to reach practicing physicians out of medical school for ten years or more, led to collaboration with a well-known Southern California Gynecologic Oncologist, Dr. Afshin Bahador, to present at six CME Grand Rounds at major hospital campuses in San Diego County. Dr. Bahador has commented “This opportunity afforded me the experience to see ovarian cancer patients actively involved in bringing awareness of this deadly disease to my colleagues. As survivors, they not only placed a face on this disease, but they dispelled the widely held belief that ovarian cancer is the ‘silent killer.’”
Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego will collaborate with esteem gynecologist oncologists for clinical updates and personal sharing presentations to medical hospitals throughout San Diego County again in 2018.
